What is dirt and what do we do with it? Marie Salcedo Horn & I discovered a shared interest in dirt, rocks and soil when we met in Graz at the Styrian AiR. Together we went in search of dirty people and places. We visited clay pits, farmers, scientists, gardens, piles of earth, caves and artists. From these visits and interviews we created a sound piece, 3 video works and a meditation in the form of a bi-lingual survey designed to frame people's relationship to soil.
